Amplitude unveils Made Easy update to simplify digital analytics
Amplitude, the digital analytics platform, has announced a revamped platform experience termed "Amplitude Made Easy".
This update aims to simplify the process for organisations to build better digital products and become more data-driven. The new platform features several enhancements designed to facilitate a quicker and more intuitive use of digital analytics.
One of the key improvements is the one line of code setup. Previously, setting up Amplitude required extensive engineering time. Now, with just one line of code, users can access Amplitude's complete suite of tools, including analytics, session replay, customer data platform (CDP), and experimentation capabilities. Additionally, the platform now features out-of-the-box web and product analytics, offering real-time insights for growth, marketing, and product teams. According to the company, this eliminates the need for users to build dashboards or charts to understand their data.
Spenser Skates, co-founder and CEO of Amplitude, expressed the company's vision behind this major update by stating, "Technology shouldn't be hard to use. We've rebuilt our platform to make analytics easy. This is the biggest reimagining of the future of digital analytics since we started the company 12 years ago. Radical simplicity is the key for everyone using data in the future."
The new platform also introduces autocapture, a feature aimed at reducing the need for detailed tracking plans. Autocapture allows teams to automatically record clicks, page views, and other user interactions on their websites or applications with minimal engineering input. This feature supports the automatic population of baseline metrics and dashboards, thus expediting the onboarding process for Amplitude users.
Another notable addition is the Ask Amplitude function, powered by generative AI. Users can pose questions in plain English and receive real-time answers. The AI not only provides the answers but also visualises data, offers recommendations on follow-up questions, and builds on past context to enhance accuracy and relevance. The Template Gallery further simplifies the user experience by offering pre-built templates from industry experts like Elena Verna and Timo Dechau. These templates are tailored to address common use cases such as retention, product-led growth, and campaign performance.
The revamped Amplitude platform is now available to all customers, including those on the free Starter plan. Alex Schlee, a senior product manager at MotorTrend, spoke highly of the updated platform. "Few things will enable your business more than outstanding self-service analytics. Amplitude's self-serve model has been a game-changer for getting consistent data into the hands of people across our product, analytics, engineering, and editorial teams. Allowing anyone in our organisation to generate insights via Amplitude has empowered us to rapidly make improvements and optimisations beyond what anyone thought was possible," Schlee said.
Amplitude's overhaul reflects a growing need in the industry for easier-to-use digital analytics tools, the company states. By simplifying user interaction and leveraging advanced technologies like AI, the company aims to democratise data insights and make advanced analytics accessible to a broader audience. The updates promise to help companies turn customer insights into actionable strategies more efficiently, aligning with Amplitude's mission to aid organisations in delivering better product experiences that drive growth.
