TCL SunPower rolls out SAP GROW across five countries

TCL SunPower has completed the rollout of SAP GROW across seven entities in five countries, creating a single cloud ERP platform for its international operations.
Completed in about four months, the project covered manufacturing operations in the Philippines, sales businesses in Singapore and Japan, and a regional sales operations centre in Australia. The system was introduced after TCL SunPower brought seven overseas entities into the organisation through an acquisition and needed a common operating platform.
The deployment standardised finance, supply chain, compliance, and product traceability processes across those businesses. It also replaced five peripheral finance systems with a single environment connected through SAP's Business Technology Platform.
Since going live in February 2026, TCL SunPower said it has cut its financial close by three days or more and improved inventory accuracy by 10% to 15%.
The programme also included the activation of SAP Joule, making TCL SunPower the first entity in TCL Group to switch on the tool. Staff are using it to retrieve real-time information on inventory, orders, and financial performance, and to summarise operational information more quickly.
Cross-border operations
TCL SunPower's overseas footprint spans multiple regulatory and operating environments, making standardisation a priority as it expands its TCL Solar business. The project used a fit-to-standard approach designed to limit customisation and speed deployment.
TCL Gtrontec, described as a strategic partner, led the implementation. The result is a shared platform intended to give management a single set of data across the overseas businesses.
This includes key operational information such as material masters and bills of materials across manufacturing and warehouse systems. TCL SunPower said the setup has reduced manual data mapping and established a template for future multi-country rollouts.
In operations, the new setup links ERP, manufacturing execution, and warehouse management systems. TCL SunPower said this has improved visibility across inventory and order flows while reducing manual handovers and billing delays.
The system also supports serial-number management and end-to-end traceability for solar products. This is intended to improve product visibility, warranty support, and after-sales service across different markets.
Compliance focus
The rollout has also strengthened TCL SunPower's ability to meet local regulatory requirements in overseas markets. This includes support for regulatory reporting and electronic invoicing in selected countries, alongside tighter group-level financial and treasury governance.
These controls matter for companies operating across several jurisdictions, particularly when acquired businesses are being integrated into a common finance structure. A unified ERP platform can reduce fragmented reporting and help multinational groups monitor local obligations more consistently.

The project also marks a broader shift in how the business manages information from overseas units. By centralising real-time inventory data and linking operational systems to SAP, TCL SunPower said it now has a single source of truth for core data across manufacturing and warehousing.
For SAP, the rollout offers an example of how cloud-based ERP systems are being used by industrial groups to integrate acquired units more quickly. It also highlights growing interest in using AI tools alongside core business systems for day-to-day information retrieval and analysis.
