Hygraph & commercetools to boost eCommerce capabilities
Fri, 1st Mar 2024

Hygraph, a leading provider of next generation headless Content Management System (CMS), has announced a strategic alliance with global composable commerce leader, commercetools. The collaboration is tipped to redefine standards for direct-to-consumer (D2C) eCommerce, meeting the growing demand for advanced content management capabilities within this sector.

The partnership allows for businesses to effortlessly tap into product information or introduce new services and categories directly from their commercetools account and embed these within the headless CMS developed by Hygraph. Both companies are proud affiliates of the MACH Alliance, which champions future-proof, open, and best-of-breed enterprise technology ecosystems.

Hygraph powers a many-to-many relationship between different content sources and devices that enables content creators to rapidly build and deliver connected digital experiences at scale. Hygraph’s modern API approach allows organisations to innovate faster and at lower cost, whether it’s building content-rich applications, or managing large product catalogues or internal knowledge management systems.

Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, Hygraph currently works with 400+ customers globally including Dr. Oetker, Shure, Samsung and Philips.

One customer already reaping the benefits of this synergy is Vision Healthcare, a rapidly expanding consumer healthcare firm. According to Diederik Oostburg, Director of Information Technology at Vision Healthcare, "The integration between Hygraph and commercetools has been a cornerstone in our headless eCommerce setup. It offers unparalleled flexibility, allowing us to tailor every aspect to our specific needs. Hygraph's easy-to-use and extendable content model, combined with its powerful GraphQL API, integrates seamlessly with our Next.js presentation layer. Not only has this integration streamlined our workflow but it has also enhanced our project's capabilities, enabling us to deliver exceptional digital experiences.”

Commenting on the importance of distinguishable content, Michael Lukaszczyk, CEO and Co-founder at Hygraph, said, “In today's competitive landscape, a generic product page won't suffice. Brands are to deliver a unique, tailored Product Detail Page (PDP) that resonates with their audience. Both Hygraph and commercetools champion microservices-based, API-first, cloud-native, and headless technologies that deliver this. We are excited about this partnership as we aim to reshape the D2C marketplace.”

Adding to the previous comment, Blaine Trainor, commercetools VP of Global Partnerships and Alliances, said “commercetools is known for driving the most innovative shopping journeys of today’s leading brands. Our new alliance with Hygraph will empower organisations to deliver even more distinctive, content-rich and personalised online experiences than ever before.”

To showcase this partnership, Hygraph will be a sponsor of commercetools’ upcoming event, Elevate - The Global Commerce Summit. This summit, earmarked as a major milestone event of the eCommerce sector, is slated to take place in Miami, Florida between April 16 and 18.
