Rubrik launches Annapurna to boost AI on Amazon Bedrock
Rubrik has launched Annapurna, a new single API service designed to benefit organisations developing generative AI applications on Amazon Bedrock.
Rubrik Annapurna promises rapid access to secure data embeddings, drawing from Rubrik Security Cloud which includes data and metadata across on-premises, cloud, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications. This integration aims to enhance the ability of enterprises to fully utilise their data for creating customised, secure generative AI applications.
Bipul Sinha, CEO, Chairman, and Co-founder of Rubrik, commented on the complexities faced by organisations in AI application development.
"Organisations are faced with significant complexity when developing AI applications due to challenges around data access and sensitive data permissions. This could lead to applications that lack relevant knowledge or don't adhere to access controls," he said. Sinha emphasized that "Rubrik Annapurna helps to unlock Rubrik Security Cloud's enterprise data and metadata. Chris Sullivan, Vice President, Americas Channels & Alliances at AWS, highlighted the benefits of Amazon Bedrock's integration with Rubrik's Annapurna API service. "Amazon Bedrock brings together proven foundation models through a unified API, making it simple for enterprises to build and scale generative AI applications with built-in security and privacy," he said. "Rubrik's integration of Amazon Bedrock with its Annapurna API service helps customers better leverage all their data – regardless of where it resides – to drive customised, secure generative AI applications."
Rubrik Annapurna is structured to aid AI innovation by providing fast, API-first secure data access, a flexible embedding engine, seamless data mobilisation, and the ability to avoid shadow datastores.
It enables configurable access to organisational data managed by Rubrik Security Cloud, and dynamically updates access as data conditions evolve.
Potential use cases of this service include creating more intelligent customer support mechanisms, smarter sales assistants, and creative marketing assistants.
These applications can harness insights from various data sources, such as CRM systems, email communications, and digital storage platforms like Amazon S3, to enhance organisation-wide AI initiatives.
