Skechers launches Luna, an AI stylist, at Singapore store

Skechers has introduced Luna, an AI-powered retail assistant, at its new store in Punggol Coast Mall in Singapore.

Luna, developed by We Are Social Singapore, offers customers personalised style advice and product recommendations through an interactive kiosk in-store or via Telegram. Customers can engage in real-time conversations with Luna, enabling them to receive suggestions tailored to their current outfit or assistance in assembling a new look based on their preferences.

The launch of Luna is part of a month-long activation celebrating the opening of Skechers' new store in the Punggol Digital District. This district is positioned as an area where integrated technology is increasingly influencing the retail experience, aiming to create more interactive and engaging shopping journeys for consumers.

Luna utilises a combination of AI models that enable speech-to-speech communication, which is intended to support a seamless interaction between customers and the system. The AI agent processes real-time conversational data to act as a personal stylist for shoppers. This includes recommending garments that complement a customer's current attire or assisting them in coordinating a complete look from selections available in-store.

The system is designed to offer convenience and increased personalisation at various stages of the customer journey, connecting both in-store and online experiences. By integrating Luna across multiple platforms, such as the in-store kiosk and Telegram, Skechers aims to create a unified ecosystem for customers seeking advice and inspiration while shopping.

With the opening of our new store in Punggol Digital District, it enhances customers' retail journey with a unique, social, and interactive experience with Luna."

According to Skechers, the introduction of Luna provides an insight into the evolving role of AI agents in retail environments. The company states that by leveraging historical knowledge about a customer's preferences and purchasing habits, AI-assisted systems may eventually be able to offer even more relevant product recommendations and aid in streamlining their shopping routines.

We Are Social Singapore led the design and implementation of Luna. The agency focused on developing an AI-driven interaction that could enhance both physical and digital retail channels.

The Luna activation is scheduled to be available for a limited time at the Skechers Punggol Coast Mall store. In addition to the in-store kiosk, shoppers can interact with Luna remotely via Telegram as part of the initiative.
