SnapLogic expands Snowflake integration to revolutionise AI apps

Wed, 5th Jun 2024

SnapLogic has announced a significant expansion in its connectivity and support for Snowflake AI Data Cloud. The new enhancements include the integration of Snowflake vector data types, Snowflake Cortex, and Streamlit. This move aims to assist businesses in modernising operations and swiftly creating generative AI applications.

SnapLogic's integration will enable customers to incorporate crucial business information into Snowflake’s cloud-based data warehouse, facilitating the development and deployment of large language model (LLM) applications much more rapidly than traditional methods. It now promises implementation in hours rather than days.

Earlier this year, SnapLogic launched GenAI Builder, the first no-code generative AI application development product intended for enterprise use. GenAI Builder leverages vector data types, allowing organisations to craft highly tailored and precise LLM-powered enterprise applications designed to revolutionise business processes. The tool supports a variety of applications, including creating virtual assistants for addressing HR queries, aiding legal teams with automatic contract redlining, and assisting finance departments in analysing market data.

SnapLogic’s GenAI Builder now incorporates support for Snowflake vector data types alongside the Pinecone vector database. This affords customers the flexibility to choose between two leading vector databases, thereby maximising the speed and scalability of their Snowflake data warehouse. Furthermore, SnapLogic now integrates with Snowflake Cortex, a managed service providing machine learning and AI solutions compliant with Snowflake’s security protocols. This allows users to benefit from Snowflake’s robust security, scalability, and governance while developing their LLM applications.

Additionally, SnapLogic has introduced support for Streamlit, an influential framework designed for crafting interactive web applications using Python. This development empowers data engineers to produce advanced LLM and data analysis applications directly from their Python code, mitigating the necessity to depend on application engineers and IT departments for building applications from scratch. Utilising Snowflake for developing new LLM-powered applications eradicates many of the time-consuming workflows previously involved in creating user interfaces, thus enabling quicker deployment of GenAI applications.

Jeremiah Stone, SnapLogic’s Chief Technology Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded integration capabilities with Snowflake technologies, stating, “Organisations are often hindered in creating accurate enterprise GenAI-powered applications due to difficulties in connecting essential data sources. They also face challenges in developing these applications swiftly amidst a shortage of coding talent. By combining SnapLogic’s comprehensive enterprise application capabilities and the ingenuity of GenAI Builder with Snowflake’s efficiency and power, we are eliminating these barriers.”

Presently, companies are utilising new GenAI applications and services to secure a competitive edge. GenAI aids in enhancing employee efficiency through workflow automation, providing quicker insights for finance and sales, and improving customer satisfaction via intelligent chatbots using real-time information. However, the high costs and scarcity of skilled coders and data scientists pose significant challenges. Additionally, enterprises need to link disparate data and applications to construct effective GenAI applications and services. Adopting a modern integration strategy that efficiently connects contemporary and legacy systems to feed data into LLMs is crucial. SnapLogic’s platform, augmented by GenAI Builder, offers a unified solution facilitating the creation of precise, enterprise-grade GenAI applications without the need for extensive coding and data science expertise.

SnapLogic’s integration support for Snowflake Vector Data Type, Snowflake Cortex, and Streamlit is now accessible for all its customers.
