Adyen and Atlas have established a partnership to deliver integrated payments and operations solutions for food and beverage (F&B) businesses in Singapore.
Atlas operates as a restaurant management platform, supporting restaurants such as Haidilao, SaladStop, and PPP Coffee in areas including online storefront management, point of sale integration, logistics, and customer loyalty initiatives. Through this partnership, Atlas will incorporate Adyen's payments technology into its AtlasPay product, aiming to improve operational processes for F&B operators.
Integration for F&B operators
The collaboration is designed to enhance backend functions for restaurant operators using Atlas, providing consolidated financial reporting and reducing dependence on manual reconciliation. With integration of Adyen's technology, F&B businesses are able to offer various payment methods to customers, utilising user-friendly payments terminals.
Operating data released by the companies shows that Atlas' customers have experienced up to an 80 percent reduction in human errors, a 12 percent increase in direct sales, and an average manpower saving of 10 percent since adopting the integrated AtlasPay solution.
Yi Sung Yong, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Atlas, stated, "Our inherent tech-first background and keen understanding of the F&B landscape shape our innovative approach to solving challenges within the industry. That's why we've collaborated with Adyen to build a platform to support our merchants' core needs – from integrating technology to ease the load on smaller teams, to payment methods and compliance – so that they can focus on what matters most: running their business."
Sector facing operational stress
The F&B sector in Singapore faces mounting operational and manpower challenges. Data from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority indicates that 3,047 F&B businesses closed in 2024, the highest annual figure recorded since 2005. Ministry of Law data also highlighted a monthly average of 307 business closures among F&B operators during the same year.
These challenges are being compounded by increasing consumer expectations for personalised and efficient service. According to a YouGov survey commissioned by Adyen, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in the sector spend an average of six hours per week on accounting. While 75 per cent of current platform users noted that their primary software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform has consolidated reporting, nearly half still rely on multiple SaaS tools, leading to increased complexity. Three in four respondents said that payment reconciliation remains a key pain point.
Key platform benefits
The integration of AtlasPay with Adyen's infrastructure is designed to streamline accounting, reconciliation, and terminal management, helping businesses reduce the time spent on administrative tasks and shift focus to delivering customer service and menu improvements. The system provides seamless customer checkout regardless of payment method, easing service delivery during peak trading times.
The partnership also offers scalable solutions for restaurants wishing to expand. Through Adyen's single platform, Atlas customers are able to remotely manage multiple payment terminals, facilitating faster and less resource-intensive expansion without requiring on-site technical support.
"When your regular customers know they can expect a smooth experience with you each time, they choose you more often. It is especially important for us to uphold the experience during busy periods, and working with Atlas helps us in delivering this efficiency in a consistent manner," said Leon Foo, Founder and Chairman of PPP Coffee, a Singapore-based specialty coffee boutique working with Atlas since 2023.
Ben Wong, General Manager, Southeast Asia and Hong Kong at Adyen, commented, "F&B businesses today need flexible solutions that can support their operations from end to end. Many F&B players run with small teams and don't have the bandwidth to manage multiple vendors or complicated systems. Our partnership with Atlas helps simplify this, so restaurateurs can focus on growing their business and connecting with customers."
Time and resource savings
The benefits highlighted include time saved on financial administrative tasks due to consolidated reporting, minimising the need for several SaaS tools, and simplified terminal management. AtlasPay's deployment is intended to improve both the customer experience at payment and employee efficiency, especially during busy periods.
Atlas' involvement with a range of restaurants in Singapore and the integration with Adyen's payments technology aims to respond to the evolving operational needs of the local F&B sector.
