SingPost leverages Boomi for customer onboarding in digital shift
Wed, 10th Jan 2024

Singapore Post Limited (SingPost), a leading postal and ecommerce logistics provider serving 13 markets across 220 global destinations, has integrated the Boomi platform to enhance operational efficiency and accelerate its customer onboarding process as part of its digital transformation project. SingPost's aim is to focus on ecommerce parcel delivery locally and internationally amidst predictions of ecommerce revenues in Asia reaching US$1.92 trillion by 2024 and an expected valuation of the global logistics industry at US$6.3 trillion in 2023.

Noel Singgih, Group Chief Information Officer at SingPost, stated, "Data is a cornerstone of our business. We use data to orchestrate the end-to-end eCommerce logistics delivery with our customer experience at the top of our minds.

"We need to ensure our customers are kept updated every step of the way, from the time they purchase an item online to when it is delivered to their doorstep," he says.

To accomplish this, SingPost required a data transformation and mapping solution and an effective integration and application programming interface (API) management. The Boomi platform fulfills these requirements.

To further propel its digital transformation, SingPost needed to enhance data governance, break down data silos, and move away from duplicative and legacy systems to seize market opportunities and spur business growth. A robust and reliable Integration Platform as a Service (iPaas) was needed for this purpose. "We needed a strategic integration platform for electronic data interchange (EDI) and API integration to provide agility and scalability for our businesses and seasonal demands," said Singgih.

"Our partnership with Boomi helps us improve visibility over our delivery and order fulfillment, making us more nimble and competitive to meet the needs of marketplaces and ecommerce retailers," he says.

Implementation of the Boomi platform has yielded significant results with SingPost, according to Singgih, reducing the onboarding time of their customers by 75 percent, from five to six weeks to less than two weeks. The partnership has improved visibility over delivery and order fulfillment, making SingPost more agile and competitive in fulfilling the needs of marketplaces and ecommerce retailers.

Thomas Lai, Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan, Boomi, expressed his delight at the partnership, "In a digitally connected world, staying ahead of the curve is key. Boomi enables companies to innovate quickly and at scale to meet their digital transformation and business goals. We are honored to partner with SingPost as it transforms into a digital-first company, focusing on real-time data-driven insights."
